BEACH FC CONGRATULATES THE BOYS U14 RED (CHAMPIONS), GIRLS U15 PIRANHAS (QUARTER FINALISTS) AND THE GIRLS U17 PIRANHAS (QUARTER FINALISTS) FOR THEIR SUCCESS AT SCORE AT THE SHORE IN TAMPA.
I am happy to communicate to you some fundraising opportunities available to your teams and to you individually.
We are constantly trying to find ways to help our members pay for travel soccer, and are happy to report that we have made arrangements with the following groups to help you and your team offset fees. These programs have been set up by the club to help our members.

Individual and Team Fundraising:
- Ted Constant Center and Va. Beach Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre Concessions
- Individuals can sign up to work at the Ted Constant Center and Virginia Beach Verizon Wireless Amphitheater to make some great money.
- The club will pay the individual families. A minimum amount of $35 is paid per shift per individual. Individuals have made significantly more during certain events. Shifts are usually 3 hours.

- We need volunteers for Friday, March 9!
- Cold Stone Creamery (Red Mill Location) Coupon Books –
- We have 1000 coupon books for sale at the office for $10 per book
- Teams/Individuals may purchase the books from the club and sell them for $15. The individual family may keep $5 per book sold.
- There is no expiration date on the books and the value of the books exceed $75
- INTERESTED, PLEASE Contact the office at 689-8157 for details and/or to arrange to pick up the coupon books
We have also made Piranhas Discount Cards that are sold for $10 to the public with $5 going to the team. The process will be the same as the Cold Stone Discount cards. Stay tuned for more information to follow.

SPRING SPEED AND AGILITY TRAINING:
In-Motion Physical Therapy will be offering Speed and Agility Sessions on Monday nights at Shipps Corner beginning on March 5 through May 7 with no training during spring break week (April 9). This is an added value service to our members encourage you to attend.
I do realize that some of you have training scheduled for Monday nights therefore we do not expect you to attend Speed and Agility.
We encourage you to take advantage of this great added value!

Shipps Corner Facility Note - We appreciate your patience over the past couple of months as we have had to make decisions to close the training facility on certain nights following inclimate weather. We want to make it clear that we make every attempt, on a daily basis to keep the facility open. The entire staff is involved in these decisions and we are equally as frustrated when we get poor weather.
However, it is important to remember that we now have a significant increase in operating costs due to the training facility and we want to make sure that our investment at Shipps Corner is protected. In the winter months, it is a challenge when bad weather comes as it may take several days for the soil to recover from the wet weather. As the weather becomes warmer, our decisions will be easier as the fields will have the ability to dry quicker and the recovery process is much shorter.
Remember that the new sod is less than a year old and we want to be certain that the surface is healthy for many months to come. The winter months will always be hit and miss, but remember that we are very fortunate to be playing in Dec., Jan. and Feb. and We are very thankful to have a facility that our players can enjoy!

No Smoking Policy at Shipps Corner and HRSC
For the health and safety of our visitors, the Virginia Beach Travel Soccer, Inc. Board and the Hampton Roads Soccer Council has approved a new policy of NO SMOKING at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex and Shipps Corner. All signs, maps and the HRSC website will be revised to reflect this new policy. Please help us by advising all members, visitors and participants to please refrain from using any tobacco products on site. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

Purchase your 2007 Hampton Roads Piranhas season tickets today! Online orders at hrpiranhas.com. The Piranhas will play a 12 game W-league schedule, with home matches being played at Foster Field on the Virginia Wesleyan College campus. Cheer on the Piranhas at all six of their regular season home games for just $29! If you purchase four or more season tickets in one order, they are just $25 each! Individual tickets at the gate will be $6.
The Piranhas kick off their 13th consecutive season at home Sunday, May 13 against their in-state rivals, Richmond Kickers Destiny. The full schedule will be released by the USL in the near future.

A great opportunity to learn how to score goals on a consistent basis. The camp is designed to teach all players, no matter what position you play, how to attack in the final 1/3rd and, more importantly, SCORE GOALS! The camp will include:
- Dribbling: moves to beat an opponent, shielding, and 1v1 competition
- Finishing: significant time and opportunities in the goal area
- Passing: striking the ball with a variety of surfaces, deception and the weight of your pass will be introduced
- Goalkeeping
- Activities designed specifically to improve your performance in front of the goal
- Tons of giveaways and prizes throughout the week
2007 Beach FC Tryout Dates and Notification Tryout Procedures:
- All players are strongly encouraged to pre-register for tryouts online. If you would like to pay by credit card, you may do so online at the time you fill out the registration. If paying by cash or check, please bring the $5 tryout fee to the Beach FC Office prior to tryouts.
- The coaches selected to head the teams in an age group will have control of the player selections for their teams. Additional coaches will serve as evaluators to assist the team coaches. While no evaluation system is perfect, Beach FC believes that this is the best way to objectively select players for Beach FC teams.
- Beach FC intends to sponsor at least two teams in every age group, provided the pool of players supports it. Each Beach FC team is assigned a highly qualified coach and has access to specialized coaching sessions (team training, technical training, goalkeeper training). Beach FC teams play in the most competitive leagues available, participate in Beach FC tournaments (Sun Cup, Columbus Day, and Spring Classic) and have the full support of the entire Beach FC Club.
- At the conclusion of each age group’s tryout period, individuals selected to Beach FC teams will have their identification information posted on www.beachfc.com, and will be contacted by a Coach or Director.
- All players selected for Beach FC teams will need to go online to complete a player registration profile. At that time, the required $150 deposit can be paid via credit card online, or brought to the Beach FC Office, located at the corner of Dam Neck Road and Holland Road, on or before Sunday, June 3th. Failure to pay the required deposit will result in the player being removed from the team unless prior arrangements have been made with the Beach FC Office.
