URGENT - TOURNAMENT CANCELLED DUE TO HURRICANE MATTHEW/WEATHER - OCT 6 UPDATE - Virginia Beach Columbus Day Tournament - It is with great regret that due to the pending impacts from Hurricane Matthew, we are forced to cancel the Columbus Day tournament. After considerable waiting for weather conditions to improve, it is apparent that the Virginia Beach and surrounding areas are most likely to see 1-4 inches of rain and high winds. Although all indications are that Hurricane Matthew will turn out to sea just below us, the risk for players/families during the weekend and traveling has to be considered. In addition, both Virginia Beach and Norfolk City officials have informed us that with some level of precipitation the field permitting will be withdrawn. This is in large part due to the 19+ inches of rain received in the last month and fields currently saturated. Also, any high winds or gusts from the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew further complicate participant safety and the rain issue.

It also covers many other unforeseen circumstances, which might prevent a player from participating.
Here are some key reasons to make your parents aware of the Registration Saver:
- No Refund Policy
- Travel Costs (Typically A Families Big Expense) is covered.
- Injuries & Illness Happen!
- Tournaments Cancel (weather, etc.)
- Affordable Coverage at 6% of Tournament & Travel Costs
Note: The policy must be purchased 15 or more days prior to the start of the tournament. The premium is very affordable and calculated based on 6% of the tournament and travel related expenses.
If the parent buys the policy and an injury, illness or other unforeseen event should happen to your player before the tournament start date, the policy kicks in to reimburse your costs.

The tournament housing service is a free service and enables the City of Virginia Beach to ascertain tax revenue and in turn helps with future grants to build/improve soccer field/facilities development. We encourage your support of developing facilities for youth players. Some hotels will be offering single night stays - check the listing on the website for this information.
