Savannah Davis (far left) and Darby Moore (left) of Beach FC 96G Red have been selected to the Olympic Development Regional pool. The Region One Girls’ Olympic Development program is the first step towards making the U.S. National/Olympic Team Pools.
Savannah and Darby will be traveling to Phoenix, Arizona on January 29, 2013 through February 3, 2013 to train and compete against other Regional players. These games strengthen players’ skills and prepare them for future competitions and hopefully, a place on the US National Team.
This type of competition and training is necessary for the serious player who aspires to reach the National and Olympic teams. The educational and athletic opportunity presented help a player grow and mature in the sport and in life. This event will also provide the players with an opportunity to be seen by college and national team coaches while also represent our region in the event.
The US Youth Soccer membership is divided into four regions. The regions are essentially East (Region I), Midwest (Region II), South (Region III) and West (Region IV). Within each region are State Associations, 12 to 15 each depending on the region.
Congratulations to Savannah and Darby on their selections.
