Subj:  Jr. Academy Time Change & Important Information

Families of the JRA,

Just a reminder that our U7-U8 training will start at 5:45 tomorrow. This should give us some extra daylight for training. Please help spread the word throughout the Academy to make sure everyone knows. U6s will still start at their normal time of 5:00.

Also, this Saturday is our picture day for anyone interested in individual professional pictures. I will have prepaid envelopes to hand out tomorrow night.

Lastly, we are changing fields for training to field 4A, 4B, and Field 5. These are the fields directly to the left of the office as you walk into the complex. U7s will be on field 4A and 4B and U8s will be on field 5. Parents please be sure to stay around the pavilion during training. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll see you all tomorrow!

Subj:  Jr. Academy Field Update and game information

Families of the Jr. Academy,

We will have U7-U8 training tonight from 6:00-7:15 at the HRSC on field 7 & 9. These fields are located on the left hand side of the complex as you are walking in the main entrance. They are on the opposite side of the complex from where we have been training. With all the rain we got, we are very fortunate to be allowed to train!

Games are at the normally scheduled times this weekend and all players should wear their Black jerseys.

Look forward to seeing the U7-U8s tonight and everyone in the morning. Let me know if you have any questions.

Subj:  Jr. Academy Pictures & Training Time Update

Families of the Jr. Academy,

We had a ton of competitive and exciting games going on this past weekend. Kudos go out to all the players as they really put an emphasis on connecting passes. Don't forget to remind your son or daughter to practice the juggle your age challenge and the skill moves at home.

October 4th is our picture day with Focused on Sports. They will be out on the fields to take individual shots of all our players who are interested in pictures. They are tentatively set to come out an hour before the games kick off. So U6s please be at the field between 9:00-9:30 if you want pictures taken, and U7-U8s around 10:30 of you want pictures taken. I will pass prepaid envelopes out next week.

As we start to run out of light at night, Our U7-U8 training will move up its start time to 5:45 on Wednesdays and Fridays. We will still start at the normal 6:00 time this week, and I will let you know when we will move the start time up to ensure we get the whole session in.

As always let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing you all this week!

Subj:  Game Day Recap & Updates

Families of the JRA,

We had another fantastic weekend of games and I applaud all our players for the tremendous work ethic that was on display. I see our players trying to solve soccer problems on their own and making good decisions with the ball. Players are looking to find open space with or without the ball and the level of play is already much better then the first week. Lets keep the momentum going!

We are going to start our juggle your age challenge this week. Basically, we want all our players to be able to juggle a soccer ball as many times as they are years old. So if they are 6, try and juggle the ball with your feet or thighs 6 times. This will give the players something to do at home and continue to get them touches on the ball outside of training.

Also, whenever possible, try and watch some soccer at home. The English Premier League season has kicked off and there are tons of games being televised on NBC Sports on the weekends. Also, the MLS season is getting into playoff time and NBC Sports and Comcast sports show many games throughout the week as well. Sept. 19th and 20th this week they will be showing MLS games live.

Lets continue to grow a passion for the game of soccer! I look forward to seeing you all Wednesday and let me know if you have any questions.

Subj:  Game Day Recap & Parking Information

Families of the JRA,
The staff and I were thoroughly impressed with the effort shown by all our players this past weekend. Its great to see players trying to make the right decisions with he ball and looking to find open space. The skill moves are becoming more proficient and its exciting to see our players get more and more comfortable with the ball at their feet.
We are going to push our U7-U8s Game Day start time on Saturdays back from 11:00 to 11:15. This should alleviate some of the parking issues. Also, Virginia Wesleyan Security said that if parents park on the grass they will start ticketing. If you can't find parking in the lot behind the fields, they ask us to park next to the soccer stadium. After going through the security check point, take a left, then take your first left just past the soccer stadium. There is plenty of parking there.
I'll be in touch Wednesday if the complex is closed because of all the rain. Don't forget, you can call their hotline before coming to training as well. 757-518-5176.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Subj:  Jr. Academy Info

Families of the Jr. Academy,

This weekend all our players should wear their yellow jerseys. I am waiting to hear back from the HRSC and Virginia Wesleyan to confirm their fields are playable tonight and tomorrow. If you don't hear back from me then assume we are still on for training tonight!

Also, U7-U8 parents please remind your son or daughter what MLS training group they are on. If you are late to training, have the players hop right in with their training group. They should know some of the players on their teams now and will be able to locate them. Just ask any of the staff coaches around. The U7s are on the fields closest to the turf and the U8s are closest to the trees. If they cannot find them come find me and we will get them with their group. This will go along way in getting players with their proper training group quickly so they can start training.
I hope to see everyone this weekend! Let me know if you have any questions.
